Employment Workshops

Cover Letter Workshop
This eighteen-part workshop explains how to develop a cover letter to accompany your resume when seeking a specific position. It covers what you should know before writing a cover letter, ways to develop your cover letter, and formatting concerns. It also includes examples.

Resume Workshop
An extensive workshop that guides you through the development of each section of your resume and provides you with strategies for overall design, purpose, and audience analysis.

Research and Evaluating Sources Workshops

American Psychological Association (APA) Style Workshop
This workshop covers all aspects of using APA style in academic papers and reports, including explanations of the various parts of a literature review and experimental report, information about citing sources in the text of your paper and formatting your reference list, help with using tables and figures, and a sample literature review with comments.

Research Paper Workshop
An extensive workshop that takes you through the stages of developing a research paper: invention, theses, sources, drafting, revising, and editing. Includes an excellent set of online resources to aid your research.

Evaluating Sources
A mini-workshop dedicated to evaluating sources including electronic sources. It is a self-contained subsection of the above Research Paper Workshop.

Research Report Workshop
This workshop covers general principles used in writing a research report, which could also be applied to writing certain kinds of technical reports, lab reports, formal reports, or scientific papers.

Searching the Net
A workshop that discusses search methods and engines to improve your online researching skills. Three brief interactive tutorials about catalogues, search engines and metasearch engines are included in this workshop.
