Business Writing Consultants (BWCs)

Our Business Writing Consultants (BWCs) are undergraduates from many disciplines at Purdue University who have taken English 390B, a special course for tutoring business writing. They specialize in tutoring business writing, ranging from job search documents to memos to reports. They are especially active in helping Purdue students with job-related documents such as resumes and cover letters. In addition to tutoring students in one-on-one settings, they create materials for the OWL website and give workshops and presentations at locations all over campus (and off-campus as well!).

The BWCs look to improve the professionalism, impact, and readability of all the business documents that they tutor. Sometimes having another (trained!) pair of eyes read over your document will give you the extra finesse needed to get that interview. Sometimes the introductions given in workshops will allow students to know where to begin if nothing else!

Simply put, these are the people...and the Writing Lab is the place...to come to for all those questions you have about business and job search documents. The BWCs can help you with specific questions, and they can help you get started from scratch.

For more information, contact the Writing Lab associate director Tammy Conard-Salvo.
