Purdue OWL Fall 2013 Open House

In September 2013, the Purdue OWL, in conjunction with the Purdue Writing Lab, hosted an open house event during Purdue University's Homecoming Week. This even was open to members of the Purdue University and the Greater Lafayette community. 

The Powerpoint deck attached to this resource contains a number of retrospective pieces from current and past Purdue OWL staffers.

Purdue OWL 20th Anniversary Vidcasts

Below are links to the Purdue OWL 20th anniversary vidcast series. The videos in this series were based on a retrospective conversation held in August of 2013 in the Purdue Writing Lab. The discussants in these videos include: Drs. Muriel Harris and Linda Bergmann, past and present directors of the Purdue Writing Lab; Ms. Tammy Conard-Salvo, present associate director of the Purdue Writing Lab; Mr. Joshua M. Paiz and Ms. Caitlan Spronk, present content and technical coordinators of the Purdue OWL; and Ms. Gracemarie Mike, a current Purdue OWL Content developer. 

During this conversation, the discussants cover topics ranging from the birth and evolution of the Purdue OWL to future directions and challenges for the Purdue OWL.

Purdue OWL 20th Anniversary Logo Designs

During the Fall 2013 semester, the Purdue OWL partnered with Mr. Donald Unger's English 309: Computer-Aided Publishing to design possible logos to be used during the Purdue OWL's 20th Anniversary. Design work was completed by groups of students and then presented to Purdue OWL staff. While only one logo could be selected, the Purdue OWL staff wanted to honor the efforts of students involved in this process.
