The Purdue OWL staff, Writing Lab staff, and the entire Purdue community has reacted in shock, disbelief, and mounting sadness to news of the horrific events unfolding on the East Coast of the United States. In order to help, we've made links to the Red Cross online donation forms and the Amazon.com donation page (which funnels all money to the Red Cross) on our main OWL page and on this page. The Red Cross is also urgently in need of blood and medical supplies.
Our thoughts and wishes are with everyone affected by this horrible series
of events.
The Writing Lab offers in-lab workshops on a variety of writing topics. You can now view our Fall 2001 workshop schedule and set aside time to come join us to learn more about all aspects of the writing process.

We're attempting to correct some serious problems with our mail server. Right now, mail service works, including mail to the online tutoring address. However, if further problems arise, we may have to shut our mail server off again in order to ensure network security. If mail to any address @owl.english.purdue.edu should start bouncing, you can contact the webmaster at ekarper@purdue.edu or the coordinator at gstacks@purdue.edu.
We thank you for your patience as we work to resolve these problems and to catch up with the accumulated mail.
Our mail server is down until August 20th. If there is a problem with the site, you can contact the webmaster at ekarper@purdue.edu or the coordinator at gstacks@purdue.edu
We are also unable to receive any mail sent to the online tutors.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience

We had to switch the IP address that owl.english.purdue.edu uses, so if you're having some trouble getting to OWL in the next day or so, it's because your DNS server may not have updated yet. Once the new address propagates to the whole world, everything should be fine. If you have any other problems related to the site, please send email to problem@owl.english.purdue.edu.
We've added some links to our ESL student resources section and our teacher resources section and added HTML versions of the Purdue OWL News for the past three weeks.
