Handouts on resumes and cover letters
Our handouts on resumes and cover letters include sample resumes, sections
on objective statements, information about scannable resumes, a list of
action words for describing your skills, and information about cover
letters for academic positions, plus much more!

Online resume workshop
We also have an extensive online workshop that guides you through the
development of each section of your resume and provides you with
strategies for overall design, purpose, and audience analysis. You can

We have a number of PowerPoint presentations about resumes, scannable
resumes, cover letters, and developing your resume for different

What's Happening In The Writing Lab

OWL Eye on ... Resume and Cover Letter Help

If you've wandered through Purdue's campus lately, you may have seen the signs and sidewalk chalkings saying "Clarify." While an excellent concept to keep in mind when writing, clarify also stands for one of the programs that the Writing Lab offers: Cover Letter And Resume Information For You.

Our excellent staff of business writing tutors are specially trained to dispense expert advice about how to hone your resume to perfection and how to write the cover letter that will land you your dream job. Our graduate tutors can also help you with writing in the job search.

So, if you're looking for a summer job, an internship, or are taking the plunge into the real world of full time work for the first or the twentieth time, we here at the Writing Lab would love to help you. Stop by to make an appointment or give us a call at 494-3723.

We have a new PowerPoint presentation on scannable resumes available for

at problem@owl.english.purdue.edu -- please include the name of the file
you were downloading, the browser you were using, and the operating system
you were running.
