Welcome to the Purdue OWL News! This is an online newsletter about happenings in the Purdue University Writing Lab and the Purdue University Online Writing Lab (OWL).

Welcome to the Purdue OWL News! This is an online newsletter about happenings in the Purdue University Writing Lab and the Purdue University Online Writing Lab (OWL). While we recognize that most of you can't visit our lab in person, we'd still like to tell everyone about what's going on in our physical writing lab and our online writing lab, because we see them as a team effort for helping people with their writing. We welcome your suggestions and feedback at owlnews@owl.english.purdue.edu.

What's Happening In The Writing Lab

OWL Eye on ... Computers

Tired of waiting in line for a computer? The Writing Lab has three Macs and four PCs available for students to use. You don't need an appointment; just come in, fill out a green slip, and use one of our computers to email, print out a paper, FTP to your Career Account,
search the Internet, or work on an essay.

If you're coming in for a tutoring session, you can also bring a disk and work with the tutor on the computer. The tutors also use the
computers to help students with researching the Internet or using THOR (Purdue's library database).

What's New in the Writing Lab

We continue to offer In-Lab Workshops for interested Purdue students, faculty, and staff. Upcoming In-Lab Workshops include the following:

Research Papers: Tuesday, March 20, 4:00 p.m.
MLA Documentation: Wednesday, March 21, 4:00 p.m
.

For more information about our In-Lab workshops, visit http://owl.english.purdue.edu/lab/labwrkshps.html.
Teachers of any class at Purdue can also invite a travelling tutor to visit their classes and give workshops as well. For more information about that, please visit our page on in-class workshops at http://owl.english.purdue.edu/lab/workshops.html
