• The Globewide Network Academy has a catalog of distance education courses --search for one that suits you.
• Gotham Writers' Workshop offers online classes in Fiction Writing, Memoir Writing,Poetry, Nonfiction Writing, Playwriting, Children's Book Writing, and Screenwriting.
• Peterson's Distance Learning Guide catalogs programs at 75 universities.
• Spectrum Virtual University has a variety of classes for a small fee.
• Studycom provides a free course in ESL.
• Yahoo's selection of distance learning links.

Computers and Composition

• Teaching English with Technology is an electronic journal for teachers of English as a second language interested in using the Internet, computers, and technology in their teaching. It contains articles, lesson plans, website reviews, software reviews and other resources.
• Tools for Writers has a number of tutorials on using common applications such as Microsoft Office and Photoshop.
• Al Baggetta's site offers a site for English teachers who are trying to include computer technology in their classes that includes interactive literature and writing software, puzzle makers, and other helpful ideas.
• The Literary Machine is free software that can help you or your students composing.

• The List of lists offers many different mailing lists.
• Topica, which hosts the Purdue OWL News, has a huge directory of mailing lists on a variety of topics.
• Usenet is a large collection of discussion groups that you can access through Google Groups if your ISP does not provide you with a newsfeed.

• Writing for the Web: A Primer for Librarians, by Eric H. Schnell, is an in-depth guide that contextualizes the use of web information for a specific audience. The advice given in this site can be valuable for anyone creating a publicly accessible web site.
