• AllLearn Academic Directories offers a collection of academic websites in various fields that have been catalogued and reviewed by scholars from Oxford, Stanford, and Yale Universities.
• AllRefer offers enclopedia entries and references for a variety of fields.
• Infomine has over 24,000 annotated Web resources in the catagories of : Biology, Agriculture, Medicine, Physical Sciences, Engineering & Computing, Humanities and Social Sciences, Visual & Performing Arts, Maps & GIS, Government Resources, and Instructional Resources: K-12 and University.
• My Virtual Reference Desk, which is intended to be a 'one-stop' site for all things Internet. Includes a comprehensive listing of sites on: news, weather, sports, general reference, subject guide (Arts and Culture through Women's Issues), and search engines.
• EINet Galaxy's reference page has links to various references and help for searching the Internet.
• BUBL Link's Catalogue of Internet Resources catalogs catalogs.
• Argus Clearinghouse for Subject-Oriented Internet Resource Guides
• Internet Public Library
• Libraryspot.com a comprehensive portal site to libraries across the world.

Professional Organizations

• Two groups related to computers and writing are the Alliance for Computers & Writing (ACW) and the Assembly on Computers in English. The latter group is part of the National Council of Teachers of English.
• The International Writing Centers Association has a site devoted to serving the needs of Writing Center directors and tutors.
• Those interested in technical writing might want to visit the Society for Technical Communication.
• The National Writers' Union (The Trade Union for Freelance Writers) has information on their campaigns and projects, political issues, union documents & addresses, jobs, etc.
• The Institute of Electric and Electrical Engineers has a helpful page which includes a link to the IEEE Professional Communication Society
• Professional Writers' Source
• Allfreelance is a site run for freelance writers but also includes a writing resources page.
